# Open an elevated command prompt. (Administrator)
# Type the following command and hit the Enter key:

# Wait for the message box popup that the key is installed.
# Now type the following command and press Enter

       slmgr /skms kms.xspace.in

# Again, wait for the message box.
# Finally, enter the following command:

        slmgr /ato

# After you hit the Enter key, Windows 10 build 10240 will become activated.

# To Check Expiration Date for Current License State:



If you have upgraded with the free Windows 10 offer above, then you can use the command below to check to see if your PC is permanently activated before doing a clean install of Windows 10 to make sure it will be activated after the clean install.

# Open a Command Prompt (Admin)
Start (Right Click) > Command Prompt (Admin) > OK

in CMD type:

    slmgr /xpr

 and press Enter.


If it reports The machine is permanently activated, then you are good to do a clean install.

If it reports an expiration date or Windows is in Notification mode, then Windows 10 will not be activated after doing a clean install.
You will need to instead reinstall and activate your Windows 7/8.1, and upgrade to Windows 10 again before the July 29th 2016 deadline for the FREE offer.
